Your trip will begin in Zagreb, where you can choose to stay in either modern and trendy hotels in Zagreb, or in the peaceful surrounding Zagorje hinterland. You can opt for a private tour of the city's cultural hotspots, or simply absorb the vibrant arts and cafe scene, haute cuisine and bustling nightlife. Take a day trip up north, to the green rolling hills of Zagorje, to visit the castles of medieval Croatian noblemen, or travel back in time to the days of Neanderthal man in the stunning museum in Krapina. Feast on local delicacies and enjoy world-class white wines as the sun sets behind the hills.
From Zagreb, the journey winds its way to the Istrian peninsula. Often called „Little Tuscany“, Istria is perfect for giving in to a little self-indulgence. You will stay in a boutique hotel in the historic center of Rovinj, one of the most romantic towns in Europe. Using this as your base, explore the heartland of the peninsula. Here you can visit the picturesque villages of Grožnjan and Motovun, famous for their art galleries and breathtaking views of the Mirna Valley.
You can also pay a visit to some of Croatia's best olive groves and wineries, or learn the secrets to truffle hunting and artisanal cheese making. Spend a day in the ancient Roman city of Pula, which was a source of inspiration even to the great James Joyce, or let us whisk you away to the Brijuni National Park and enjoy a stroll and a swim.
The next stop is Plitvice Lakes National Park. Spend the night in the glorious UNESCO protected landscape, a must-see for every nature lover. Tour the park with a licensed guide and take your photo next to the tallest waterfall in the country.
You could also stop for a drink in Rastoke, a quiet oasis in the heart of Croatia, or learn more about the life and work of the genius inventor Nikola Tesla in Smiljan, his birthplace turned into a museum.
From the beautiful mountainous region, you will head south towards Dalmatia, where you will spend a night in Zadar. You will stay in a boutique hotel in the historic city center, from where the main highlights, such as the Church of St. Donatus or the sea organ, are only a short walk away. Take a trip to the nearby town of Nin, the historic Croatian capital famous for its saltworks.
En route to Split, make a stop in Šibenik to visit the spectacular Cathedral of St. James, or in Trogir, a small romanesque town situated on an island connected to the mainland via bridge. Meet famous winemaking families, taste their masterpieces and top it off with the freshest oysters in Ston. The final stop is Dubrovnik, „the Pearl of the Adriatic“.
